I LOVE THIS RESPONSE. It’s all so nuanced, and you’re right — it absolutely depends on the person. I really agree with what you say about the “scale” — a female comedian mentioned this in her routine once: if someone you think is a 2 whistles at you, you’re like “ew go away.” But if he’s a 10? “omg, he thinks I’m cute.”
