After my divorce, I dated plenty of men I met doing things I loved. A lot of them were a-holes, narcissists, jerks. A lot of them were lovely.
Plenty of Fish is a terrible dating service. I was on it for a day. I met my current love on Bumble — I’ve never met anyone like him before. And I wouldn’t have met him if an internet algorithm didn’t bring us together. Two of my best friends are desperately in love (one of them married) and have been with their partners for years. Met them online.
I think it just depends. I met my ex husband in person. That was 8 years of my life I can’t get back, either. It’s all trial and error, and not so much the WAY you met the person but the person themselves.
I understand your perspective, though. And I’m sorry you had that experience. But I’m very happy for you that you found your person! Yay, love! Thanks for writing this :)
